Over the past few years with the increasing number of teen tragedies our worlds greatest psychologists and minds have turned their wits to finding out how to stop this trend…. As a member of this generation I’ve come to understand a fact of today’s teenage society and as simple and obvious as this sounds, we don’t express enough.
Through my high school years not once did anyone express the feeling that they needed me around, that they appreciated my presence, now thankfully I had other escapes (the ocean, sport, exercise) but other people aren’t as lucky. Other teenagers come home from class each day and instead of thinking about the good things they focus on the fact that no-one has expressed their need for them around.
In the depths of your despair you focus on the fact that no one has told you today that they love you, or that they need you, and many of you would find that just one person saying this would brighten your life considerably.
What many of you don’t realise, is how much it brightens your own day telling someone this, how good it feels to let a friend, lover, or family member know that you appreciate them more than you say.
So my challenge for you today? Go and tell at least one person that you appreciate them, go and express how much they mean to you. Brighten at least one person’s day today and let’s stop this darkness consuming seemingly every teenager around the world.
Right here, is Kale taking a few minutes to appreciate the ocean and the beauty of mother nature. This right here, is my tip to happiness, appreciate your life. My photography.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. You’re a truly a great person Sam.
